COVID-19 Update

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, consignments sent by Royal Mail are very 'hit and miss'. This is due to Royal Mail staff illness or self-isolating. Depending on the route your order takes from us to it's destination, the intermediate sorting offices it passes through and their staffing levels will affect the delivery time. Please allow extra time for delivery of your items and we appreciate your patience

Our guideline for postage after dispatch are:

First Class      2-3days but could be longer

Second Class  3- 5days but could be longer

Overseas are also taking a lot longer and we do not know how long items will take as it all depends on your postal system in your country as there flight delays. Please check your International Services in your country before placing an order. It will be at your own risk so please order way and above our normal guidelines for delivery

This is only a guideline and things are changing everyday but we are monitoring the situation

Please allow sufficient time for your parcel to get to you and choose the correct postage at checkout.

We can not chase customers as we have limited staff due to social distancing so please pay the correct postage it is your responsibilty .We will not refund the postage if the parcel is late and the incorrect postal charge has been paid. You are welcome to return the goods if they arrive late but you will need to pay return postage. We will only accept liability if the item is damaged or a mistake has been made. 

Your Orders

Our warehouse team are taking even further measures than usual to ensure we are adhering to World Health Organisation guidelines. We are sanitizing all of our work spaces and equipment more frequently, and our team are also taking all necessary precautions.

Public Health England (PHE) has advised that people receiving parcels are not at risk of contracting the coronavirus. From experience with other coronaviruses, we know that these types of viruses don’t survive long on objects, such as letters or parcels. This complements the highly publicised guidance from PHE for people to wash their hands more often than usual using soap and hot water.

Signing for and receiving items

In order to protect both their people and customers as much as possible, they we will not be handing over our hand-held devices to customers to capture signatures. Postmen and women will instead log the name of the person accepting the item. This will apply to all deliveries that require a signature. 

Additionally, for all customers (including those who are self-isolating) where they need to deliver any parcel that won’t fit through your letterbox, they will place your item at your door. Having knocked on your door, they will then step aside to a safe distance while you retrieve your item. This will ensure your item is delivered securely rather than being left outside. 

If you are unable to come to the door at all they will issue a ‘Something for You’ card, advising of other ways you can arrange to get your item. For example, by getting a friend or family member to collect the parcel from our local Customer Service Point on your behalf. In this situation, and to keep your mail as secure as possible, they will need to bring along the card we left you and a form of ID in the name of the person the item is addressed to. 


Delivery Information :

Children’s Party Shop we know how important delivery is, especially when on it’s for a special Birthday we can not let the little ones down! We at Children’s Party Shop will keep you fully informed by sending you an e-mail when your item has been dispatched.  All items we try to dispatch next day after placement of the order before 9.00pm. If an item is out of stock you will be advised of expected delivery date. If you want the bulk of your parcel sent out to you minus the out of stock item we can do that. The out of stock item will then be sent out to you at no extra charge by First Class Royal Mail.. Please note that Saturday and Sundays are not working days so all orders placed on a Friday do not go out untill Monday. If there is a Bank Holiday orders will not go out until the next working day.

If you are only ordering 1-2 items, say a set of invitations or loot bags, then we will only charge you £2.75 to deliver them. The item will be sent by First Class Royal Mail. Royal Mail aim that you should  receive the parcel the next working day after posting but please be patient if this is not the case as this is not guaranteed next day service. 

UK Royal Mail Standard Second Class (10 items or less) - £3.99
Standard Delivery is sent via Royal Mail 2nd Class post. Please allow up to 7 days for delivery of these items, if your party is less than 7 days away please use Royal Mail First Class Post. We will not be held responsible if your parcel does not get to you on time.

UK Royal Mail First Class - £5.50 Due To Delays With Royal Mail Please Allow 4-5days
First Class, Royal Mail aim that your parcel should arrive the next working day after postage but please be patient if this is not the case. This is not a Guaranteed Next Day Service

Next Day Delivery If Ordered By 12noon £9.99 (UK Mainland Only Mon - Fri. Orders placed over the weekend are not despatched until Mon ) 


Royal Mail Special Delivery if ordered by by 12.00noon will be dispatched the same day for delivery the next business day by 1.00pm. You will need to sign for this service if you are not home you will need to collect this from your local sorting office. ( Next day is not guaranteed for Scottish Highlands and Islands, and parts of Channel Islands).

If your order is over 2kilos there may be an additional charge as we may have to split it in two parcels and we will contact you.

This service can be available for a Saturday Delivery please contact us first before you place your order.

Please note our parcels are delivered by Royal Mail we can not leave special instructions for your parcel to be left unattended. If you want to do this please leave a note for your postman as it is then at your own risk to do so.

International Delivery

We ship all of our international orders on a 'Delivered Duties Unpaid' basis.

What does this mean for you?

 International Order may be subject to charges or fees imposed by the local customs authority in the country where your order is shipped. To release your items from customs you may have to pay a fee.

It is really important that you give us the correct contact number and email address when placing your order so that you are kept well-informed of any updates.

Unfortunately we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount.

Please do check with your local customs office prior to placing your order to obtain details on how these charges are assessed and applied to your delivery

  • Postal Charge see table above if your postage works out more we may contact you for addittional postage but this very rarely happens.
  • Your country needs to be in the European Union to be classed as Europe Shipping
  • If ordering more than 10 items additional items will be charged at the following: Europe £1.00 and Rest Of The World £1.50
  • Typically allow approximately 7-12 working days for delivery to Mainland  Europe and approximately 2 Weeks Rest Of The World.
  • Europe 1-5 Items will be posted Royal Mail Air Mail First Class Post above that will be Royal Mail International Signed
  • Rest Of World all orders are sent Royal Mail International Signed
  • All orders that are posted International Signed a signature will be required on delivery. If the order is over 2kilo's it will have to go courier and we may contact you for additional postage fees.
  • Courier Service and Express Service is available on request please email us for a quote.

If A Parcel Gets Lost……
If your parcel gets lost then please notify us straight away. Your parcel will all ways have a Senders Label on it so it should make our way back to us at Childrens Party Shop. The Post Office will only class a parcel lost after 15 days therefore we will not accept liability for the parcel that is lost less than fifteen days.

In our experience if a parcel has not turned up please check at your local Post Sorting Office as 9 times out of 10 they may have tried to deliver it but have not left a card.

Pleas note as per Royal Mail guidlines we do not count a parcel as lost until 10days after posting 

We will try and get another parcel out to you in time for your party but you will need to pay for this. If the parcel turns up then we will refund you the money back when you return the items back to us in their original condition. If the parcel is returned back to us as they could not deliver it then we will refund you the money back at this point. This hardly ever happens but if it does please let us know straight away.

If a parcel has gone missing due to incorrect address being submitted we will not accept liability for this and it will be down to you the customer to track the parcel down.


We will accept returns after 14 days from delivery if you are not happy with your order and a full refund will be given. All postage costs (sending and returning)will be your responsibility we will only accept liability for a refund of postage if it is our mistake or the product is damaged.  All damages and problems must be reported on receipt of your parcel. All returns must be in their original packaging and intact and in the condition we have sent them.

Please note you have a duty of care until the products are returned back to us as per long distance selling regulations If mailing back please make sure you use a trackable service and for larger orders adequate postal insurance.

If the item is damaged then please return and we will refund you or a replacement sent out.

 You are welcome to cancel 14 days after placement of your order ,if your order has been despatched before cancellation you will be liable for the return postage costs
